RAAF Radschool Reunion

We have progressed considerably since the last update and now have over 150 former Radschool bods/bodettes and partners who have indicated their interest in our reunion. See names HERE.

 

The Reunion will be held at the Kedron Wavell Services Club, Chermside, Queensland.

We will be at the club on Thursday at 5:00 pm to register early birds and again on Friday at 11:30 am for more registrations, you may want to consider joining the Club as a member and avoid the signing in process and be eligible for all the member discounts throughout the club. Airbus Visit:

 

Trip  to Airbus will be limited to 40 people as this is all they can handle, so we will give priority to the folk from interstate, Airbus has kindly offered to make another time available down the track.

 

We need to have 10 vehicles available so if you are intending to visit Airbus and can take PAX, please let us know on the form below.

 

Cost = FREE!

 

 

Friday Reception:

 

Thanks to the efforts of our colleagues we will have several old RAAF radio “bits and pieces” for you to peruse. There will be a “sound booth” with all the favourite songs you have nominated on the form below.  An eclectic collage of photos will be on the big screen for all to wonder at. If you have any pics you can share with us, please email them to us HERE.

 

Please note: The Ode is at 7:pm., followed by an official welcome from Tony Axelsen, President KWSC.

 

Cost = Single $50.  Couple $75. (This includes hor d'oeuvres, canapes.)

 

 

Saturday Caloundra Air Museum:

 

Assemble at KWSC at 9:30am for the trip to Caloundra, once again please indicate if you can take PAX, admission is by donation, the museum is run by volunteers so please be generous. A light lunch will be provided at a cost of $5 before returning to KWSC. Please wear your name tag.

 

Cost  donation plus $5 for lunch (Payable on the day)

 

 

Saturday Buffet Dinner:

 

On arrival we need to validate registrations and issue tickets for the Lucky-door Prizes which some may find interesting and/or useful. We need your trivia questions (and answers) so that we can collate your boffin/nerd knowledge to run the quiz throughout the evening, even more prizes  for the winning tables.  More photos and music, all part of the quiz. Please send us your questions (with answers) on the form below.

 

Speeches are minimal however each table is to nominate at least one person to speak "on their time in the RAAF".  It needs to be relevant, entertaining and short, 2 mins max. The prize winning raconteur will be judged by acclimation Db meter. So get the "little grey cells" working, it may be you!!!

 

Towards the end of the evening KW SUB-Branch RSL President, Greg Peake will draw the lucky door prizes as donated by the RSL.

 

Cost = $35 per head.

 

 

Sunday Bowls: 

 

We have arranged a game of lawn bowls for those interested at the Chermside Bowls Club (468 Rode Rd, Chermside) from 9:30am – 12:30pm. Cost is $5 for the game and includes the use of bowls, (flat soles shoes or bare feet only) followed by a $5 barbecue lunch. Certain to be a fun day!

 

Cost = $10 for bowls and lunch. (Payable on the day)

 

 

Monday  ANZAC Day parade:

 

The Qld RSL has confirmed our inclusion in the ANZAC Day march this year. We have been allocated a spot behind RTFV-35Sqn and will march under the Radschool banner (right) and when the order of march is available we will make it available in a further update.

 

After the march, we have been invited to join RTFV-35 Sqn for refreshments at the Jade Buddha, in the City. A fee of $25 per person includes entry and snacks.

 

Cost = $25 entry and snacks.
