Terry Geary, known to most blokes and blokettes who were at Richmond in the late 60’s, early 70’s, as “Dollar,” shown here in 1968 with the lovely Miss Chrissy. Dollar was an aircraft electrician and when he left the RAAF he joined the NSW Police Force where he enjoyed a successful career, spending a lot of time at Penrith Police Station. He’s since left the Police Force, and we hear he’s now got his own business in Swimming Pool maintenance and still lives close to the base at Richmond—or is it close to the Fitz.

Competition.
We received an email from Julie Peters who won our competition a couple back, and she wrote to say that she has never in her life been happier than when Armaguard turned up and the official “hand over take over” ceremony was performed on her front lawn under the watchful eye of the dozen heavily armed troops, and she took possession of her bottla. She rang all her relatives and told them of her good fortune, and they all came to stay to see for themselves the splendiferous bottla that Julie had won. Things have quietened down now in the Peters’ household, the last of the thousand or so guests have gone, and although life will never be the same again, Julie is trying hard to get on with it. Good luck we say….
Our last competition caused a bit of a stir—as once again, we gave the wrong answer, but….you let us know that right enough. The correct answer was 683, we had 685, we’re claiming the problem occurred because we mistook the written 3 for a 5. So there….Once again, we stuck all the names in a hat and drew out Maurie Laine who lives here in Brisbane, which is good as it will keep delivery costs below $10,000. Maurie now has his bottla, and we hear there’s bunches of people coming from as far away as Melbourne just to see this wonderful prize. Maurie has taken a lease on a “Millers” shed for the next 35 years, and plans to store the bottle in air-conditioned comfort so it will be in pristine condition when he retires. He was heard saying he will sell the bottla through Christies then and use the proceeds on which to retire.
Now it’s your turn. You too can experience the once in a lifetime ecstasy that was recently experienced at the Laine household and win yourself a bottla Sparkling Rinegold—that wonderful wine from yester-year. All you’ve got to do is answer the following question correctly:-
Who was the CO of Radschool at Laverton in 1965—was it:-
A. Wng Cdr Blakely B. Wng Cdr Hall C. Bugs Bunny D. Wng Cdr Starkie
This one will really stump those sumpies and framies, because half of them don’t even know where Laverton is. No cheating by looking in Vol 4 which has the answer. Get your answers in to us by end of September, and we’ll draw out one lucky winner and he/she will become the next champion. Judges decision etc…………..go to it.
